~D&D: 5 Seasons. SESSION SUMMARY 15/4/13~
~VOLUME 1, Chapter 8: “FIRE!!!”
i really enjoyed seeing you all playing these ridiculous secondary characters and you all took to them well. I feel it was a welcome break from the rather heavy session that was 1-7. If you guys want to continue to play these characters, LET ME KNOW!
Tying in Sean and Michael’s catch up sessions was also fun but without Sean watching himself jump out of the window, some of it was lost on people.
Dave begun the session about 24 hours after shooting several guards and allowing the rest of the party to flee, awaking in a gaol cell beneath the keep. After hiding in a haystack, taking off his clothes, tipping his chamber pot everywhere, refusing his last rites from Tyleron and experiencing an extremely trippy dream sequence, the day comes when Dave is to be executed.
Almost the whole town gathers in a courtyard near the keep to observe Dave’s execution by firing squad. Among them is George, Tyleron, Lord Evergreen, Guard Jeffry and the guard captain. Tied to a post several metres from everyone else, Dave yell obscenities to everyone who bothered to listen anymore. Things looked bleak for our drunken protagonist.
There came a faint rumbling in the distance, followed by an awful chorus of off-key singing. Jeffry diverted his attention to the south for just a moment to see rising smoke and small rockets flying around. ‘GOBLINS!’ he yelled, dropping his crossbow and sprinting for the eastern gate. Dave struggled as the townspeople ran every which-way, continuing to ignore him. Tyleron runs up to Dave and unties him from the post as a massive rocket whizzes past and crashes into the keep, blowing a large hole in its side. Dave runs into the keep searching for anything to replace his dirty white prison robe, finding a large coat, a large crossbow and some very uncomfortable boots. Another rocket hits the keep and Dave decides it’s time to leave. Dave discovers a lack of stairs on the floor below as well as a small group of goblins trying to prop up a ladder to get up to him, he kicks away the ladder and stumbles into the water. While trying to swim away, he is magically lulled to sleep by a goblin bard.
After having to deal with the murdering maniac refusing his last rites, Tyleron sits on his special chair at the execution, ready to pass Dave’s soul into the afterlife, following his execution. Suddenly, goblins charge from the south. Tyleron unties Dave, picks up his scythe and valiantly charges into battle. After slaying several goblins, he quickly became overwhelmed and ran to the eastern guard towers to seek out any other guards, finding none; he climbed onto a horse and began his ride to Grainfare to seek help.
Mudd Goblin Perspective
it was the eve before the planned attack on evergreen keep and the chief invited his assembled party of “Goblin heroes”, specifically chosen to lead the charge on evergreen keep. After trudging through mud and forests, the goblins made it to the outskirts of town where the sent in the dram brigade and started firing off rockets. After several failed attempts, key areas were hit and the heroes charged in. through some skilful bardic magic and various amounts of fisting, the guard captain and many guards were disposed of. After beginning the looting of the keep and failing to kill a strange weird-looking human in the keep, the goblins had conquered the town.
Or so they thought. The large door to the east slowly creaked open to reveal a large mob charging back on the goblins, realizing the futility of the situation, Chief Gutwad casted some shamanistic magic a disappeared leaving the others to either hide or flee. Those that fled disposed of 2 ascendants from the church of Oxfore before making it home, recovering from their premature attack.
